Since having such a great experience in Hall Cross already from years 7-11, I knew the Sixth Form would be a place I would enjoy and thrive in. And it truly is - the Sixth Form is great in offering opportunities for students to be the best that they can be. In all of the four A-levels I did including English Literature, Politics, Psychology, and Spanish, the teachers were so helpful in offering support in any queries I had about a certain topic and would gladly mark any extra essays I would do in order to perfect exam technique. The Sixth Form not only has teachers who are at hand to give guidance but are passionate about the subject they teach and will make the learning environment a place for enjoyment and intellectual discussion, whether that be in Politics and talking about current affairs, or in Spanish learning about Spanish and Mexican culture. Finally, the Sixth Form as a whole has been very supportive of my Oxford application by providing interview practices and checking my personal statement multiple times and hopefully, in October I will be studying for a degree in Law there, thanks to the assistance of the Sixth Form.

I joined Hall Cross in year 7 and have just left now after completing my A-Levels, ready to begin a maths degree at the University of Manchester. I know that the only reason I’m in the place I am now is because of the way my teachers have inspired me and motivated me in my time here, especially in my two years in Sixth Form. I studied further maths, chemistry, and physics at Hall Cross and the biggest thing that stood out to me is how dedicated each teacher is to getting the best out of every student. The maths department became a home for me and my friends and there were always teachers on hand who were happy to help with anything
we needed, and it’s that level of commitment that all my teachers showed me that means I would recommend Hall Cross to anyone

The subjects we took were all creative studies; Fine Art, Photography and Textiles. The subjects were very intense, time consuming but overall we loved the time we spent with our teachers who made it all possible. They were extremely supportive and guided us throughout our 2 years. There were times when we felt overwhelmed by the amount of work we had to produce but in the end after much reassurance and help, we were able to manage our time effectively and felt that we worked to our best abilities with all the support we needed – especially throughout Covid - which was particularly tough not being able to come into school, but again the teachers helped us through those tough times!
