Some fixtures have had to be cancelled this week due to the weather. We hope that it starts to improve again in future weeks!

Table Tennis

The first set of table tennis fixtures began this week, with matches against Campsmount. Hall Cross won every match and hope to continue with this form for the rest of the season!

 Badminton

The first KS3 tournament was held this week for both boys and girls. The boys finished 2nd, winning 4 out of their 5 fixtures. The girls played well and some good badminton skills were displayed, but they, unfortunately, narrowly lost to De Warenne.

Rugby

The Y9 boys played in the Yorkshire Cup on Wednesday. They are a real force to be reckoned with, but they lost 26-27 in the last minute of the game.

The Y8 boys won all 3 games at their rugby festival, playing some fantastic rugby and enjoying every minute!

Hockey

ON Monday, the U14 boys played against QEGS. With great support from Y8 players Leo Rudd, Jack Walton, Ewan West and George Henshaw, the team started well scoring 3 goals in the first half. Two goals came from Ewan West and one from the captain, Henry Bambrough. In the second half, QEGS came back strongly, scoring 2 quick goals. Just when it looked like Hall Cross were going to concede another, the team upped the tempo, kept battling and held onto a 3-2 win. The MOM was Leo Rudd.

Wednesday saw 48 hockey players and some staff members take part in the first hockey social; ten pin bowling. All years were represented and there was a good club spirit between the teams.

Awards were presented to:

1st Strike: Matthew Larter & Joshua Cusack

1st Gutterball: Henry Bambrough

Most Gutterballs: Leo Rudd

Most Stylish Bowler: Georgia Howlett

Best Celebration: The Girls

Top Boy: Chris Wheater

Top Girl: Priya Kaur and Lexie O’Donnell

Top Team: Jack Walton, Ryan Barker, Ethan Dennett, Ashton Woolley, Seth Lockwood and Alex Spyve.

A great evening was had by all and we hope the next social is even better!
