Hall Cross Academy A Level Dancers were specially invited to perform at the ‘Dance and Health Links’ Conference at CAST in Doncaster on April 28th 2017.

The event was organised by One Dance UK in collaboration with Doncaster Public Health, Dance Action Zone Leeds (DAZL) and Wayne Sables Project.  The conference aimed to explore how dance can engage and inspire communities to be active and support a creative approach to addressing health and wellbeing priorities.

Case studies included a thought-provoking presentation on Older People Dancing by Yorkshire Dance/University of Leeds as well as an inspiring presentation on Dance for Children and Families by DAZL/Wayne Sables.

Our students answered questions from conference delegates and contributed to group discussion on the dance and health agenda.  We are exceptionally proud of our students who represented Hall Cross Academy brilliantly, were professional in their approach, shared their views openly and helped to create a vision for further partnerships between the dance and health sectors in Doncaster.
