Hall Cross Academy Elite Dance Company were specially selected by a panel of experts to perform at the South Yorkshire Regional Dance Platform, Crossing Borders. The event took place on Sunday January 29th and our students loved watching the work of other students from across Yorkshire and relished the opportunity to work with students from across Yorkshire during the daytime workshops.

Students travelled by train to Horizon Community College in Barnsley to perform their work, titled Leave The Past Behind which was choreographed by Miss Layte and The Dancers.

Students participated in two workshops in contemporary and hip hop styles as well as a social media workshop.  They also had the opportunity to participate in dance battles on the Freestyle Stage and enjoyed watching students compete against each other there.

The regional platform performances were all of an exceptionally high standard and the dancers are really looking forward to applying again for next year’s event!  They are currently working on student led choreography for the Hall Cross Academy Summer Platform.
