Twenty-four Y7 students spent the day with professional dancer and choreographer Joss Arnott on Wednesday January 10th.

They learnt repertoire from his most recent work and developed creative movement material too.  Their dance will be performed at both ‘Nexus’ on Tuesday January 16th and in the ‘Triple Bill’ at CAST Theatre on Wednesday January 31st.

“Arnott continues his reputation for creating high-octane choreography with an athletic, punchy style.”

Through participating in this project, students were developing their performance technique, creativity and teamwork skills as well as developing their physical capabilities!

Joss said that “the dancers worked really hard!”  He also wished them luck for the ‘Nexus’ dance performance!

Miss Smithson was incredibly pleased with the perseverance and professionalism demonstrated by the students.  “Some of the material was really challenging; it is the actual material that professionals perform, so they all did absolutely brilliantly in picking up the complexities and nuances of the movement.

I am really looking forward to seeing the students perform alongside Joss’ company at Cast on Wednesday January 31st on the main stage!”
