Over the past five weeks, the girls’ football team have been improving their skills by attending training on a Thursday after school. It has been great to see new and old faces attending practice and all committed to improve. We have welcomed three new Y7s to the team Lexie O’Donnell, Lucie Thompson and Kenzie Salmon. All these girls play football outside of school so bring lots of skill and energy to the team.

The Y7/8 team, captained by Poppy Chambers, have competed in four fixtures this year. They have won three out of the four games against schools around Doncaster in the local league. They have played Rossington (3-1 win), Hungerhill (10-2 win), Campsmount (4-3 loss) and XP (6-0 win). Scoring 23 goals, and many hatricks have been scored by Lucie and Lexie.

The Y9/10 team, captained by Ruby Barker, played their first fixture last night against a strong Hungerhill team. With the score finishing at 3-3, it reflected the determination and hardwork put in by both teams. Frankie Davidson, Hannah Cusack and Eve Dawson scored the goals.

If you are interested in playing for the girls’ football team, we train on a Thursday after school from 3:05-4: 15 pm. You just need to bring yourself and PE kit to the sports hall straight after school.
