Triology Science GCSE

About the Course

GCSE Trilogy Science forms part of AQA’s defined suite of GCSE Science Courses. It gives students a tailored experience of Science in each of the three areas to help them achieve to the best of their abilities and go on to study any of them beyond GCSE.

Exam Board

AQA External Examination: 100% which incorporates elements of required practical investigations to cover specific competencies. Students will sit six 1¼ hour exams ( two in each of Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and receive 2 GCSEs.

Course Content

<p Biology will include the study of cell biology, plant and animal physiology, enzymes and digestion, cell division and genetics, speciation, environment, homeostasis and control. Chemistry will include the study of atomic structure and bonding, chemical and energy changes in reactions, rates of reaction, chemical equilibria, chemical analysis, polymers, organic chemistry, chemistry of the atmosphere and sustainable development. Physics will include the study of energy and energy resources, waves, forces, kinetic energy, electricity, radioactivity, medical applications of physics, turning forces, electromagnetism.

Beyond the Classroom

Trilogy Science provides a firm foundation for students to progress to A-level Science in any of the three subject areas. It is also a very good platform to go on and study Level 3 BTEC in Medical Science. Biology
