About the Course
A levels need not be the only education route that leads to university or a successful career.
A BTEC course offers applied learning related to work-related qualifications, built to accommodate the needs of employers and allow progression to university. They provide a more practical real-world approach to learning alongside a key theoretical background. The focus of the qualification is to provide students with the opportunity to specialise in areas such as Microbiology, diseases and infections and physiology of human body systems. BTECs embody a fundamentally learner-centred approach to the curriculum, with a flexible unit based structure and knowledge applied in project based assessments. They focus on the holistic development of the practical, interpersonal and thinking skills required to be able to succeed in employment and Higher Education.
