Librarian (Lower School)

About the Vacancy

Salary: £16,370-£18,073

Grade 6: 37 hours per week, term time only plus 3 days

We are seeking to appoint a warm, motivated and creative professional to manage and further develop resources and activities within our Lower Campus library which is fully equipped with literature, learning materials and IT services for students to use during lesson and extra-curricular activities. The successful candidate will:

• be passionate about reading and determined to optimise the use of library resources to help to foster students’ independent learning and promote a love of reading;
• oversee the issuing and discharge of books and other learning resource materials whilst maintaining a welcoming, attractive and scholarly environment;
• support teachers to make effective use of the learning resources available;
• have enthusiasm and strong organisational skills; and
• assist students with first aid in the role of Designated or Deputy Designated First Aider, if necessary contacting other staff or students’ homes.

Professional qualifications in librarianship are not required but would be desirable as would experience in a school.
