Support & Intervention

Hall Cross Academy is committed to creating a well ordered, safe and secure environment for all our students, where there is mutual respect between students and staff. This respect is fostered within a sympathetic and caring ethos where the needs of the student are put at the centre of all support and intervention. Pastoral support is, in the first instance, provided by the Form Tutors led by two Phase Leaders in Key Stage 3: one for Care and Guidance and one for Learning and Progress. They are supported by a dedicated pastoral team.

Students who require support with reading will be offered one hour of guided reading per week through the accelerated reading programme to ensure that they continue to develop in this area. There is further support provided for students who do not speak English as their first language through our EAL Department and to those children with additional learning needs.
