Tell us your views on childcare needs in Doncaster

Doncaster Council have launched their Parent Demand survey to pull together information on childcare needs in Doncaster – and they want your views!

The responses from the survey will be analysed together with childcare places information and take into account local socio, economic and demographic factors. This will contribute to identifying any gaps in the provision of sufficient, affordable, accessible, quality childcare places and inform future planning.
The survey is very simple, takes just a few minutes and can be completed using any PC, Mac, smartphone or mobile device.
The survey is available here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/parentdemand2017

Many thanks to all our parents and carers who returned surveys to us this year and particularly those who took the time to write responses. We have received a detailed breakdown of what you have said to us and are using this feedback to help us on our journey to outstanding.

What we have done
Some parents were unsure of the range of extra-curricular activities that we offer our students.
We have improved our website to display the variety of activities that our students take part in. Please click on the link here to take a look.
A high majority of parents said that their children were well taught at Hall Cross.
We have introduced a new cycle of internal monitoring, self-evaluation and review across all areas of the academy.
The overwhelming majority of parents told us that their children are happy and confident since starting at Hall Cross Academy and stated that they felt behaviour and safety are both good.
We have conducted a review of our Behaviour policy and launched our new Behaviour policy in January 2015.This will be reviewed regularly by staff and students. The new policy is available here.
Some parents felt that the amount and level of challenge in homework is low.
We have reviewed our home learning policy and monitoring more closely the amount and quality being set. We have introduced a new project based homework for year 7 through our VLE. We are currently developing a similar format for year 8 and 9. You can take a look at the projects by clicking here.
A paper copy of the information on our website is available on request to the School.
