On Monday 13th May 2019 and following their work with Solutions for the Planet, a team of Year 7 students attended the Big Ides Competition 2018 for the North of England Regional Final at the University of Leeds. They had to present their Big Idea to a panel of judges and receive feedback. The winning team from each Regional Final automatically qualify for a place in the National Final in London.

The students are Anushka Arora, Jessica Brown, Milly Bullars and Evie Henderson-Kelly and as ‘Bee Aware’, they presented their Big Idea of Saving the Bees and Pollination. There were 10 other teams presenting their Big Ideas and after many hours of presentation, questioning and feedback, the judges announced the winners. The decision was unanimous and to their delight and credit, ‘Bee Aware’ won the competition. Very well deserved and Congratulations to them.  If you see these students around school please congratulate them and ask them about their Big Idea. They are very passionate about it.
