On Wednesday 7th March Hall Cross Performing Arts Department organised a visit to see one of the UK’s longest standing contemporary companies, Phoenix Dance Theatre, perform their Triple Bill at CAST.  Excitingly, one of the pieces being performed, ‘Shadows’, is currently on the GCSE Dance specification and Christopher Bruce, the choreographer of this piece, is studied as part of the A Level Dance course.  This was a great opportunity for students to gain an insight into the work of an influential choreographer.

Students then participated in a practical workshop with the company on Friday 9th March.  This workshop was designed to develop  students understanding of modern dance styles, build athletic partnering skills and to generate ideas for creative choreography.
