About the Course

GCSE Business & Communication Systems gives students a basic understanding of Business concepts in addition to practical ICT skills.  It introduces students to how a business is organised and the practical skills that employees will need to carry out the running of a business.  There is a large ICT elements to this course and gives students to opportunity to develop their word processing, spreadsheet and database skills.

Your Future

We will accept grades A* - B at GCSE to be able to continue to study Business Studies at A level.  The A level course builds upon the skills and concepts that are studied at GCSE.  Business Studies is a very popular subject at A level and demand for the course is high.  Business and Communications Systems also offers transferable skills for the A level ICT course.  Many students who have studied Business and Communication Systems also successfully gain apprenticeships working in a number of environments.  Our pupils who have studied Business and Communications Systems have found a wide variety of jobs in areas such as travel and tourism, banking and accounting and ICT.
