Update on Wearing Masks

Dear all,

I hope that you are keeping well, as always.

As you are aware we had, what turned out to be, 3 confirmed Covid-19 cases in year 11 on Tuesday. The good news is that all 3 boys are suffering only mild symptoms and the rest of their families are well.

The decision to send all of Year 11 home for a fortnight was not an easy one, but one we felt was in the best of interests of the year group and the staff who teach them. All of the staff will now deliver lessons through Google Classroom. If your child is in Year 11, please let Mrs Gibbons know if they are having any issues.

Wearing of masks
Following a meeting with senior staff this week, we have made the decision to insist on staff and students wearing masks on corridors between lessons. Wearing masks on busy corridors will continue to allow us to use specialist rooms for teaching. We have made this decision in response to the changing national picture. Please let your child’s year manager know if there is a reason that your child cannot wear a mask.

Finally, as always, I am grateful for your support at this time. We are doing everything we can to keep your children safe whilst at the same time providing the quality of experience that they are used to. As the situation is so fluid I would urge you to contact the school if you have any questions about any matter, ignoring any unhelpful social media as I know the vast majority of you do already.

I hope your weekend is an enjoyable one.
